My name is Alex Genadinik. I've been in Elearning since 2014 and have over 250,000 students. Here is my Udemy teaching profile.
In this article, we'll cover:
1) Knowing which niches are profitable.
2) How to tell what your earning potential might be.
I am available for Elearning coaching to help you plan, create, and promote your course.
People buy courses for two reasons: Two improve their business or career so they can make more money or to improve at a hobby. Naturally, there is much more demand for online courses that help with businesses and careers. Hobby-based courses can also be lucrative, but the most lucrative niches for online courses are:
- Programming and technology
- Professional skills
- Business skills
- Design
- Marketing
If you are in a niche like programming, that can seem great at first glance. But there are thousands of programming instructors, many of whom are very good. Some of them dominate parts of this space, making it nearly impossible for new instructors to break into that establishes niche.
On the other hand, if you are in a relatively obscure niche, there may not be a lot of money to be made in it overall, but if most of the money in that small niche ends up going to you, you'll probably be very happy with the outcome.
An individual can be very happy in a small market.
If you are a start-up like Uber or a big company like McDonalds, your market capitalization is in the multiple tens of billions. That is because these companies cast a wide net, serve many people, and grow to be truly gigantic. Multi-billion dollar markets are big markets. No one will argue that.
On the other hand, if you are just a single person small business owner, in most cases you don't need billions of dollars to be satisfied. You need much less. Many people would settle even for under a million dollars. Picture yourself making half a million dollars per year. Most people would be extremely happy with that and this is not unreasonable in Elearning.
It isn't easy to make six or seven figures in Elearning because no matter what your night may be, there are probably already many competitors in it.
Competition is a problem for nearly all online instructors, including myself. To beat your competition, you must create a compelling course and promote it better. These goals take very different skills and instructors who do well are ones who master a wide range of skills ranging from course creation, filming, editing, course marketing, and much more.
Here is a page on this website which lists all my best courses with discounts.
Creating courses can take weeks or months. If you don't want to create courses on your own and get courses overnight, course licensing is possible.
With course licensing, a person can get courses to sell overnight. I offer a few licensing options for my 125+ courses.
I offer the course licensing option through which you can license my courses to sell on your website and keep 100% of lifetime revenue.
If you need additional help, I offer the Elearning franchise option which comes with my courses to resell, a website, and coaching in one package.
